A Philanthropic Trip to Nicaragua…and a HUGE THANK YOU to RE/MAX

In 2006, I attended a personal motivation event that focused on the power of giving. Incredibly inspired by the ideas and discussions I heard that day, I set a personal goal to find a meaningful way to provide a better way of living for children that come from impoverished countries. Eight years later, with the help of my longtime buddy and RE/MAX colleague Jason Buck, I finally discovered a way to bring this personal goal—and another one– to fruition.

Short Sales and REO’s…where did they go?

Are short sales and bank owned REO’s still available? How do they affect our market here in Hermosa?

The numbers speak for themselves. There have been rumors for the past 2 years that our banking system is holding on to a large amount of “shadow inventory,” yet we are seeing fewer and fewer of them for sale. Thumbnail image for HISTORY OF REDONDO BEACH

HISTORY OF REDONDO BEACH

Throughout the 1800’s, Redondo Beach gained popularity as a seaside playground for vacationing “inlanders” and tourists. Hotel Redondo, built in 1889, boasted 225 sun-drenched rooms, tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, and a grand ballroom for posh dinners and special events. A huge 34,000 square foot pavilion built in 1907 by Henry Huntington stood 150 feet from the shoreline near today’s Pier. Nearby was the “Plunge,” billed as the “largest indoor salt water heated pool in the world.” With its booming commerce, unsurpassed fishing, and the arrival of surfing pioneer George Freeth in 1907, Redondo Beach became the center of ocean sports for Southern California.
